On Tuesday, September 26th at 10:00 am Scott and Kim Tranter celebrated the 65th Anniversary of Crazy Otto’s Empire Diner. They were joined by the Herkimer County Chamber of Commerce and other local dignitaries as they cut a ribbon to mark the occasion.
Crazy Otto’s Empire Diner, a landmark in Herkimer, is located at 100 West Albany Street. The diner was delivered to Herkimer in 1952. At that time, the restaurant was touted by local newspapers for having the most modern kitchen in Upstate New York.
In honor of their 65th anniversary and rededication, Crazy Otto’s Empire Diner will be offering a two (2) egg breakfast with hash browns, white or wheat toast, and coffee for the 1950’s throwback price of $1.99 in the month of December, 2017.
Crazy Otto’s Empire Diner has won numerous awards including; Best Biscuits in America by onlyinyourstate.com, Best New York State Diner (Reader’s Choice) by NewYorkState.com, Best Cheeseburger and Bacon Cheeseburger by New York State Beef Producers, and they are also Home of the World’s Largest Omelet (1993, 2000, and 2010).
