Lock down at Jarvis lifted

MOHAWK – Officials lifted the lock down at Jarvis Middle School within two hours of being initiated.

According to a statement from Central Valley district officials, the lockdown was initiated after the report of a specific threat against the school.

Mohawk, Ilion, Herkimer and New York State Police conducted a complete search of the school, and “after a thorough investigation, police determined the building, students, and staff to be safe,” the statement said.

Jarvis Middle School students will be dismissed at the normal time. All after school activities will take place as scheduled.
