“No-Knock” Search Warrants Yield Results

On July 19th 2017 The New York State Police, Little Falls, Herkimer, and Ilion Police Departments executed 6 Search Warrants that included three “no-knock”  Search Warrants upon residences in Herkimer County’s valley area.  These search warrants were the culmination of a year-long investigation into the trafficking of various narcotics and drugs in Herkimer County and the surrounding area.

The residences upon which these Search Warrants were served are as follows:

610 Garden St.  Little Falls, NY

214 Perry St.  Herkimer, NY

24/26 Pleasant Ave.  Ilion, NY

City of Little Falls resident, Kyle W. Mead – 27 years old, was arrested and charged with numerous Felonies related to the possession and sale of narcotics and other drugs that included the following:

Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 1st degree  –   class A-1 Felony

Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd degree  –   class A-2 Felony(2 counts)

Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree  –   class B – Felony

Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree  –   class B – Felony

Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree –   class D – Felony

Criminal Sale of Marihuana in the 2nd  degree  –   class D – Felony

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree–class B–Felony(2 counts)

Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 2nd degree  – class D – Felony

As a result of this investigation State Police seized approximately 8 ounces of cocaine, 3 ounces of crystal methamphetamine and over 6 pounds of marijuana with a combined street value of over $50,000.  Additionally, over $5,000 in cash, digital scales, packaging material, cutting agents were also and 2 long guns were also seized.

The investigation was conducted by the State Police’s Community Narcotics Enforcement Team(CNET) with the assistance of the following State Police units: Special Investigations Unit(SIU), Bureau of Criminal Investigation(BCI) – Herkimer Office, Special Operations Response Team(SORT), K9 unit and Troop D Uniform Troopers.

The Herkimer Co. District Attorney’s Office, Oneida Co. District Attorney’s Office, Federal Bureau of Investigation, US Attorney’s Office, US Postal Inspection Service and Police departments from the City of Little Falls and Villages of Herkimer and Ilion also assisted with the investigation and search warrants.

Mead was remanded to the Herkimer county Jail after arraignment and held with no bail.
