LITTLE FALLS – Two young boys suffered injuries Sept. 26, when the bicycle they were riding collided with a pickup truck, said state police in Herkimer.
At about 6:15 p.m., An 8-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy were riding the same bicycle, travelling south on South William Street. The boys failed to stop at the intersection of John Street and struck the front, driver’s-side headlight of a 2009 Dodge pickup truck, troopers said. The impact threw both boys from the bicycle.
The 13-year-old suffered a serious head injury and was transported to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, police said. The 8-year-old was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Utica with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck, Michael A. Masi, of Little Falls, was not injured.
Police continue to investigate the incident and no charges have been filed at this time.
