The EARTH Metal Detecting Club of Central New York, announced that Michael Parker of Holland Patent is the winner of the Treasure Hunter of the Year for 2022.
The award was presented at the club’s annual Christmas party held at the Club Monarch on Dec. 11th.
Parker scored a new record for the highest score in the club’s history with 210 points after eight monthly competitions during the detecting season.
One of his favorite discoveries of the year was an early 19th-century Tibetan bell which is about 4 1/2 inches tall.
Parker, at first, thought it was a light socket.
The club was founded in 1990 and averages 60 members.
