Harvey A. Rackmyer

St. Johnsville, New York-Mr. Harvey A. Rackmyer, age 72, a longtime St. Johnsville resident (Monroe Street), passed away peacefully on Monday morning, Nov. 7, 2022, at Albany Medical Center. He had the love and support of his family by his side at the time of his passing.

Harvey was born on Dec. 19, 1949, in Little Falls, son of the late Harvey and Mary (Smith) Rackmyer and educated in St. Johnsville schools and graduated with the St. Johnsville High School, class of 1968. His last employment was with Beechnut as a supervisor. He retired following 30 years of dedicated service. He was united in marriage with Mary Harwick on June 23, 2001, in St. Johnsville at Grace Christian Church, a union of 21 years. Mr. Rackmyer was an avid golfer. He enjoyed trips to the casino. He was an avid NY Yankees fan and loved NASCAR racing.

Survivors include his wife, Mary of St. Johnsville; his daughter, April Rackmyer of Roseboom, NY, son, Matthew Rackmyer of Cherry Valley, son, Troy Rackmyer and wife Shari, daughter, Tammy Seelbach, stepchildren, Holly Warner of Herkimer, Jason Gallt of Little Falls, Clayton Gallt of St. Johnsville; a sister, Constance “Connie” Nolly of Ft. Plain; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5 (between St. Johnsville and Little Falls), 315-508-5131 on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, from 11 am until 12:30 pm. A funeral service for Harvey will commence at 1 pm at Grace Congregational Church, Center St., St. Johnsville, on Saturday, Nov. 12th, with the Rev. Michael Torres officiating.
