The Herkimer County Sheriff’s Office Welfare Fraud Unit, assisted by the Herkimer County Department of Social Services, recently arrested the following individual for various Welfare Fraud charges.
Scott Rother, age 49, of West Winfield, NY was arrested for Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a class E Felony, and Welfare Fraud in the Fourth Degree, a class E Felony.
Rother fraudulently received in excess of $1,350.00 worth of benefits in which he was not entitled to receive over a period of 2 months.
Rother was processed on the charges and released on an appearance ticket.
Rother is scheduled to appear in the Village of Herkimer Court at a later date to answer the charges.
